Many modders and suites such as the NRaas have great reputations because they test, incorporate feedback, and up date as needed.

Out-of-date mods or two different mods affecting the same game code/item could cause a problem where the up-to-date limited mods are safe. It might have been a problem with an anti-virus updating definations or an auto-update pulling resources away from the game that caused a crash, rather than a particular mod. I think many "hear" others talk of how mods negatively impacted their games without getting all the specifics. I tried it and it worked well for the length of time I played (though I doubt I actually played that save much beyond a three week test). One person said she played IP with no mods, but she gave every family a car (and maybe a boat) to cut down on taxis spawning. I have played for years using gohere (my favorite because I can stack actions in the queue just the way I want them) and overwatch. It's not like they are going to impact the game's installation files in Programs (Applications on a Mac) in any way. So if you are already experiencing game corruption and other issues without them, frankly I'm not sure what the tremendous risk of trying some of them out is here. And finally, the mods are all easily removable if you don't like them.

I will also point out that the mods were designed and continue to be maintained by professional software developers and a support mechanism together with tons of documentation are provided on our site. But many if not most players find that the game can only be taken so far before it begins to implode on itself and requires the moving of sims to a new world periodically without some help to keep things going. Yes, the decision to use mods or not is a personal one and there's nothing "wrong" with choosing not to do so. StoryProgression, on the other hand, does add overhead. But I find it essential to perform a MC Reset Everything from City Hall every 6-8 sim weeks or so, depending on the world being played, to keep things running smoothly. MasterController also adds pretty much no overhead to the game. Some players, not all, will experience a brief pause at 3am when Overwatch does its overnight run. The small, usually imperceptible amount of overhead that NRaas Overwatch, ErrorTrap, Register, Traffic, Traveler, and GoHere (surprised this one hasn't been mentioned) add to the game are more than made up for by the stability, bug fixes, and prevention against lag and corruption that they provide. I've also never had any problems with Dragon Valley, though that one really isn't very large. Does no one else see the (weak) connections to the classic Archie comic strip town of "Riverdale" in this one? It also reminds me of where I grew up, but guess that's beside the point. It's one of my favorite and most trouble-free worlds to play (agree about the diner, though). Riverview is a small world? It may not be densely populated to begin with, but there are so many places on the map that are easy to build out, somehow I've managed to stuff over 220 residents into that one over time and they are not yet all living on top of one another. See also /Tips+For+Better+Game+Performance that might help with lag or other game performance issues. Traveler, when you like to travel between worlds, it has fixes that has a more reliable way to keep the internal data of a Sim intact when it travels. Traffic fixes a bug with endless uncontrollable making of Icecream/Food trucks or taxi's. Register solves the Service issue, where under EA default the game will stop filling up slots that requires them due to unavailability of Homeless Sim(Bars, Cash registers, Venue stages), Register will do this on command. Catch any errors caused by the game core or any mods that runs on the background that otherwise goes silently by, it will produce ScriptErrors that you then can upload on our site for further examination.

There are also a lot of silence checks the mod does, if certain things goes out of wack (corrupt outfit, stuck in aging, fixes genealogy, etc).ĮrrorTrap also cleans up your saves of obsolete things when you load up your game. Overwatch has clean ups once a day (3 am) to get rid of unnecessary/obsolete object codes and recovers stuck Sims more better than the EA way. With the exception of the "core" mods mentioned on the above linked 1.69 page, the remaining mods are script mods.įollowing is a short overview by J4Ks of recommended mods:

The NRaas mods are up-to-date and when installed correctly to the appropriate patch level won't corrupt a game. Plus im on the latest patch 1.69 so may be it causes trouble with it?
